HomeMy WebLinkAboutwater comission; formation WHEREAS the increase in population and the future con- struction of additional houses and other structures within the municipal limits of the Village of Arlington Heights is creating a water supply problem; and, WHEREAS a study has been made of the subject and a number of meetings have been held by representatives of this Village and representatives of other municipalities located to the north- west of the City of Chicago; and, WHEREAS it is the judgment of the municipal authorities of this Village and its representatives, and of the municipal authorities of the municipalities hereinafter named, and their representatives, that it would serve the best interests of the inhabitants of the areas within such municipalities if a Water Commission were formed for the purpose of serving such communities with water; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Arlington Heights, being the corporate authorities thereof, that they avail themselves of the provisions of .Article 81 - of the Cities and Villages Act, and the amendments thereto, and that they do hereby determine and elect to construct, acquire and operate a water works system and a common source of supply of water jointly with the City of Park Ridge, the City of DesPlaines, the Village of Mount Prospect and the Village of Palatine, all in Cook County, Illinois. i
